Getting Started

The first thing you will need to do is add a campaign:

Adding Campaigns

Press the button and the right hand frame will display all the form fields relevant for a new campaign.

CONTACT DETAILS
Campaign The name of the campaign (usually the company /Client name)
Name Your contact within this campaign
Address line 1 Address line 1 of the client
Address line 2 Address line 2 of the client
City City of the client
County County of the client
Postcode/zip Postcode or zip of the client
Email address Primary contact email address for your client
Phone Phone number for your client
Cell phone Cell phone number of your client
Monthly fee For your own information only...the monthly maintenance fee you cahrge this client
Stats URL URL to any stats program such as AWSTATS you have installed for this campaign
URL DETAILS

Here, you add the URLs associated with this campaign. In some cases you may have more than 1 url for a campaign for example when you have different gateway pages on different domains focussing on particular groups of key phrases.

Make sure to include the http:// and also to perform a carriage return after each one.

There is no need to enter in complete urls for pages that reside on the same domain. For example, it is not neccessary to have:

http://www.yourdomain.com/page1.html
http://www.yourdomain.com/page2.html

In this case, you would only need:

http://www.yourdomain.com as the system will pick up ANY pages residing on this domain.

KEYWORDS + ENGINE SELECTION
Keywords

Enter in the keywords associated with this campaign here. You can track an unlimited amount of keywords however with more than 50, you run the risk of the system running very slowly, therefore it is reccommended that you keep this to a maximum of 20.

Remember to perform a carriage return after each

Engine Selection Tick the checkboxes to choose which engine(s) you would like to track your keyphrases with. Google UK is always required as a default in order for the system to function correctly
Page Depth Select from the dropdown how many pages of the search engine you wish to check. For example, 2 pages=up to 20 positions etc.
CLIENT LOGIN / PERMISSIONS
Username/
Password
Assign a username and password in order for your client to gain their own access to their campaign reports. Using the file 'clientlogin.html' located in the SMtemplates directory, your clients can log in to the system to see all their historical rankings reports and any notes you have posted to their campaign.
Allow running of
reports
If this is checked, your client can perform their own rankings reports from their logged in area.
   

Next, press the green 'Add Campaign' button and you will be presented with this:

Finally, press the button to complete the process and your new campaign has been added.
